<p>MVCSC Elementary Reading Specialist</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>Under the supervision of the building principal and district administration, Elementary Reading Specialists will support the needs of students who need additional instruction in Reading. Specialists will work directly with the grade level PLC teams to help identify the specific reading needs of students and to provide targeted and differentiated instruction to increase reading proficiency for the students they are assigned. Reading Specialists should have an affinity for math instruction, and be willing to develop many new instructional skills and strategies that they can employ for increased student learning in mathematics. Additionally, Math Specialists will support core instruction by sharing strategies for classroom teachers to use during core instruction.</p> <p>Responsibilities Include:</p> <p>? Maintain continuous connection with all building level PLC teams.</p> <p>? Understand the curriculum that is articulated through Essential Learnings and to use the Common Formative Assessments to help target learning goals for students.</p> <p>? Collect student performance data both formatively and summatively to guide instruction and to document effective instructional strategies that worked.</p> <p>? Be a continual learner and participate in opportunities for professional development specifically targeted to reading instruction both at the Tier I and Tier II levels.</p> <p>? Support teachers in building additional practices for reading instruction.</p> <p>? Work with the district team of Specialists to learn and build capacity as a team</p> <p>? Work with the district team of Specialists to set goals and monitor progress towards goals.</p> <p>? Support the school improvement plans of their respective building.</p> <p>? Other duties as assigned by the building principal, or district administrator.</p> <p>Salary/Benefits/Hours</p> <p>? Per Teacher Contract</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>?
