<p>Charter School Specialists, the premier leader in the Charter School world of sponsor representation, is seeking qualified candidates for the open position of Director of Career and College Readiness.</p> <p>The Position of Director of College and Career Readiness is designed to evaluate, monitor, and provide technical assistance to all sponsored Drop Out Prevention and Recovery schools. The position will also provide statewide advocacy to all sponsored schools and establish themselves as a statewide subject matter expert. Communication and technical support are the key requirements to being successful in this role.</p> <p>Some of the qualities we seek in this position are;</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with partner schools to help guide the implementation of effective college and career programming </li><li>Excellent communication skills including requirement to document and record school site visits </li><li>Ability to present information in a variety of settings including professional development workshops and trainings. </li><li>Contribute to School Improvement Team activities including, but not limited to, onsite assistance reviews, school monitoring and reporting, and professional development. </li><li>Participate in the community school application, contract and renewal process. </li><li>Support sponsored dropout prevention and recovery schools in developing best practices. </li><li>Represent CSS in all major Drop Out Prevention and Recovery and Career Tech Education advocacy organizations and share critical developments/legislative updates/upcoming events, etc. via the Sponsor Connection and other CSS marketing channels for once-per-month updates. </li><li>Attend / participate in associations, legislative meetings, and town halls that impact DOPR schools - and report on workgroup discussions to all DOPR leaders and to interested stakeholders. </li><li>Provide purposeful updates to DOPR boards about significant events, legislative changes, community partnerships, etc. </li><li>Attend Board Meetings as assigned </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications/Education:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain a deep core knowledge around DOPR operations, legislative initiatives, significant stakeholders, companies, and regulations so as to be considered a top expert in the state. </li><li>Knowledge of assessing program needs in college and career programs and education. </li><li>A Bachelor's in education, business, social service, or related field. </li><li>Five years of experience in public education, preferably in a dropout prevention and recovery setting, as a counselor, administrator or closely related position in college and career preparation programs is required. </li></ul> <p>Please send a letter of interest and resume to: rhale@charterschoolspec.com</p>
