<p>This full-time, temporary appointment from 06/23/2025-08/1/2025 is part of a federally funded grant program designed to assist eligible students in grades 9-12 develop the skills and motivation necessary to graduate from high school and enroll and succeed in higher education. Upward Bound serves high school students from income eligible families and from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree.</p> <ul> <li>Residential Coordinator is expected to live in college housing during the length of the summer program, and provide supervision to eight staff members and approx. 85 students during the week, beginning Monday's at 7:00 am, and ending by approx. 4:00 pm on Friday afternoons. </li><li>Ensure the well-being of approx. 85 residential students in grades 10-12, with regards to health, safety, morale, disciple, and interpersonal relationships within the group. </li><li>Develop and implement elective and recreational activities, field trips, and residence life programming. </li><li>Act as primary point of contact for students and families from 10:00 pm to 7:30 am each night for the duration of the summer program </li><li>Attend all field trips, cultural events, college visits and community service events. </li><li>Appropriately work with student participants to encourage participation, enhance college preparation and maintain program academic and behavioral standards. </li><li>Transport students to Job Shadow Placements and cultural activities around the community using SUNY Adirondack vehicle. </li><li>Daily debriefings with Director of Upward Bound </li><li>Attend Tutor Mentor Training (6/23/25-6/24/25) </li><li>Assist in preparation for the program closing ceremony (7/31/25) </li><li>Attend a final program debrief and close out (8/1/25) </li></ul> <p>The ability to facilitate workshops, and have experience working with students who have been traditionally underrepresented preferred. Valid driver's license preferred.</p> <p>Certification, Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree preferred.</p> <p>Compensation: </p> <p>$4,320 + free on campus housing for the length of the program + free meals Monday breakfast through Friday lunch + opportunity to attend cultural events at no cost.</p> <p>Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until filled.</p> <p>We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
