<p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Valid teaching certificate </li><li>TESOL Endorsement </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO:</p> <ul> <li>Building Principal </li></ul> <p>DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Evaluates, instructs and improves English proficiency using proven, research based instructional practices </li><li>Experience administering the OELPA </li><li>Knowledgeable of State and federal requirements </li><li>Implements programs of study </li><li>Provides evaluation and testing for non-English speaking and limited proficiency </li><li>Provides instruction to each ESL/LEP student appropriate to his/her level as determined by formal </li><li>Provides periodic written reports to parents of ESL/LEP students in regard to child's progress. </li><li>Provides referral to existing guidance and counseling as well as other support resources within the district where </li><li>Provides assessment for newly arriving non-English speaking </li><li>Confers with classroom teachers regarding each student's program and provides content area teachers with strategies for working with English Language learners. </li><li>Participates in in-service and teacher training provided by the </li><li>Meets with ESL Coordinator at regular </li><li>Provides support and resource information classroom </li><li>Assist testing coordinators in the planning and implementing of state standardized tests. </li><li>Fosters an inclusive classroom climate conducive to learning that is consistent with both district and building goals </li><li>Utilizes instructional and behavioral management systems that increase student learning </li><li>Monitors student progress toward mastery of instructional goals and objectives </li><li>Communicates effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis </li><li>Meets professional responsibilities </li><li>Demonstrates accurate and current knowledge in subject area </li><li>Differentiates instruction to promote achievement for all students </li><li>Leverages district curriculum maps and Common Instruction Map in instructional planning </li><li>Follows established discipline procedures </li><li>Encourages students' attendance </li><li>Sets high positive expectations for the performance of all students </li><li>Implements concepts of PBIS consistently and with fidelity </li><li>Prepares and implements lesson plans to teach instructional objectives </li><li>Follows grading policies and procedures, and maintains accurate and complete student records </li><li>Follows confidentiality procedures regarding students, parents/guardians, and fellow staff members </li><li>Adheres to established federal, state, District and Board laws, policies, rules, and regulations </li></ul> <p>Contract days: 184 days</p> <p>Salary: In accordance with established salary schedule</p>
