Therefore, we invite and welcome applicants from traditionally underrepresented groups in healthcare - people of color, people with disabilities, LGBTQ community, and/or gender expansive, first and second-generation immigrants, veterans, and people from different socioeconomic backgrounds - to apply.</p> <p>The Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Mass General for Children is seeking a Research Assistant to help with several study tasks on a PCORI (Patient-Centered Outcome Research Institute) funded study in collaboration with the Family and Adolescent Clinical Technology & Science (FACTS) team at Partnership to End Addiction. Specifically, the Research Assistant will lead participant recruitment and data collection on a study focusing on adolescent substance use prevention and brief intervention activities in the Mass General for Children pediatric clinic.</p> <p>Reporting to Scott Hadland, MD, MPH, MS, Chief of the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine, and under the supervision of the Research Coordinator, the Research Assistant will play a key role in the preparation and day-to-day responsibilities of study visits, including conducting informed consent procedures and data collection through a hand-held tablet device at various MGH Pediatric Clinic sites. The Research Assistant will work collaboratively with a team of investigators, including pediatricians, clinical psychologists, medical assistants, nurses, and research coordinators, as needed.</p> <p>Experience with in-person recruitment of adolescents and caregivers for studies related to substance use is a plus, as is an ability to enter and track online study data. As part of these activities, the Research Assistant will apply excellent patient recruitment, data collection, and communication skills while engaging with the medical teams and clinic families.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>Encompasses a variety of clinical and administrative tasks and responsibilities which serve to facilitate the flow of patients through the clinic and to enhance the quality of care to patients. The emphasis is primarily administrative and placed on the ability to organize priorities, complete tasks, manage confidential patient information, schedule appointments, arrange diagnostic testing and referrals, and assist with insurance-related issues. Depending on interest, participation in research protocols may also be possible.</p> <p>Does this position require Patient Care?</p> <p>No</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Collects and organizes patient data. </li><li>Maintains records and databases. </li><li>Uses software programs to generate graphs and reports. </li><li>Assists with recruiting patients for clinical trials. </li><li>Obtains patient study data from medical Records, Physicians, etc. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
