<p>Instructional Technology Supervisor Organizational Scope: Reporting directly to the Director of Technology and Superintendent of Schools and working primarily in the central office, the Instructional Technology Supervisor performs a variety of administrative tasks associated with supporting district-wide technology integration and collaborating with the district leadership team. The Instructional Technology Supervisor regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance, including making decisions relating to their role and responsibilities. The work of the Instructional Technology Supervisor is influenced by Westford Public Schools' mission of developing curious lifelong learners who are responsible, empathetic members of the community, demonstrating innovation through a wide variety of opportunities within inclusive, joyful learning environments that embrace their variability and honor their diversity. Position Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Successful experience with integrating educational technology to support teaching and learning. </li><li>Experience with instructional use of current available technologies, including web applications and knowledge of data systems, security, networks and instructional use of the internet while providing leadership in regards to the future of educational technology and integration pedagogy. </li><li>Collaborate with the Curriculum Coordinators to identify technology applications and software subscriptions to support curriculum objectives and participate in the development of the annual technology subscriptions budget. </li><li>Collaborate with Network Manager and technical support staff to develop policies and plans for distribution and implementation of major technology acquisitions. </li><li>Model best practices for digital citizenship at all times and provide Professional Learning to administrators, curriculum coordinators, and other district staff. </li><li>Stay knowledgeable about the current legal requirements for student data privacy, educate stakeholders about the topic and implement procedures and upgrades related to software, apps and extensions across the district that are aligned to the laws. </li><li>Implement district policies as well as federal and state laws and regulations. </li><li>Collaborate with WPS IT department to maintain and improve the cybersecurity posture of the district. </li><li>Recommend modifications to existing policies regarding the use of technology and also new policies as appropriate. </li><li>Evaluate the quality and cost-effectiveness of our technology infrastructure (equipment and staff) and make recommendations for future purchases which are aligned with our strategic plan and vision. </li><li>Oversee WPS' website and provide support and training to all users. </li><li>Monitor feedback from staff regarding tech support to ensure the schools receive the best service available that minimizes interruptions to teaching and learning. </li><li>Collaborate with the WPS IT department to develop and streamline systems and procedures regarding technology district wide for teachers and students, including logging on, passwords, Helpdesk tickets and Tech Requests. </li><li>Represent Westford Public Schools as liaison to the Town of Westford Technology Department. Collaborating with Technology Managers and Supervisors to ensure that all significant technology initiatives and programs are aligned with overall technology strategies and objectives of the Town of Westford. </li></ul> <p>Job Qualifications: The ideal candidate will hold a masters degree and/or demonstrate professional training by evidence of licensure or certification. They will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and demonstrate interpersonal skills. The candidate will demonstrate experiences with: PowerSchool, information management, proficient using Excel and working experience with Apple, Microsoft, Google and Windows platforms. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues at one time, manage own workload and prioritize tasks. The candidate must be a productive team member and work cooperatively with colleagues and the community. The employee has access to, and must have the ability to maintain, confidential information, including but not limited to student information, financial information and records. Physical Demands: Physical demands vary in keeping with the assignment, but the position generally requires the ability to walk and stand on tile flooring, to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and to bend and twist regularly at the waist, knees and neck. Most work is performed in a typical office environment requiring minimal to light physical effort. This may include everyday discomforts and distractions typical of the office settings, such as temperature variations, proximity to colleagues, frequent interruptions and moderate noise. This position requires the ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment at efficient speed and for lengthy periods of time. Terms of Employment: The Instructional Technology Supervisor is a year-round, full time position. Terms of employment, including evaluation and salary are negotiated individually with the Superintendent of Schools unless they delegate that responsibility.</p>
