Purdue Global's School of Business and Information Technology has an</p> <p>opening for Adjunct Faculty.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Purdue University Global offers term by term, non-tenured teaching appointments to qualified</p> <p>individuals who are dedicated to providing quality educational experiences to students in</p> <p>Associates, Bachelors and Masters degree programs. This position offers an excellent</p> <p>opportunity for individuals to work in a professional learning community wherein faculty</p> <p>contribute to and engage in instructional best practice for adult learners in an innovative,</p> <p>nontraditional university setting.</p> <p>Adjunct faculty have part-time teaching roles. Courses are offered on a term by term basis.</p> <p>Adjunct faculty can teach up to 2 courses per term, not to exceed 10 courses per year. This role</p> <p>participates in continuing professional development and may also engage in faculty governance</p> <p>and curriculum work as needed. Additional service activities may be assigned to Adjunct faculty.</p> <p>Scholarship is not required. Teaching assignments for Adjunct faculty may fluctuate and are</p> <p>contingent upon the schedule of courses. Adjunct faculty deliver high-quality instruction and</p> <p>foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment conducive to student success.</p> <p>What to expect in this role:</p> <p>? Provides a student-centered learning environment which enables students to attain success.</p> <p>? Teaches synchronous or asynchronous seminars (10 week units) as assigned by the School or program.</p> <p>? Maintains school-determined virtual office hours per week for each class.</p> <p>? Ensures timely management and response to electronic correspondence from students, administrators, and other University officials.</p> <p>? Leads message board discussion and engages students in relevant discussions and coursework.</p> <p>? Partners with Academic Advisors to address student concerns. Refer students who self-</p> <p>identify with a potential need for an accommodation under the Americans with</p> <p>Disabilities Act (ADA) to Student Accessibility Services (SAS), and comply with all</p> <p>student accommodations communicated by SAS in writing.</p> <p>? Maintains and submits accurate and timely reports for student grades/progress.</p> <p>? Delivers mid-term and final grades in accordance with the academic calendar.</p> <p>? Enforces student conduct policies as outlined in the University Catalog.</p> <p>? Attends University, departmental, and faculty meetings as requested.</p> <p>? Remains current with trends, techniques, and advances in technology that are applicable</p> <p>to the program. Providing a learning environment that supports student success.</p> <p>? Performs additional duties as assigned by the School.</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>A Master's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field with</p> <p>over 5 years of related experience.</p> <p>Online teaching experience is a plus.</p> <p>What we're looking for:</p> <p>? Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite software, such as MS Word, Excel and</p> <p>Powerpoint, as well as Google applications such as Gmail, Chat and Meet.</p> <p>? Ability to work in a multicultural environment, across diverse teams, departments, and</p> <p>Schools.</p> <p>? Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.</p> <p>? Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, balance competing demands for</p> <p>time, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.</p> <p>? Effective analytical skills with the ability to assess situations, resolve issues or make</p> <p>recommendations as appropriate.</p> <p>? Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication</p> <p>style and method to suit different audiences.</p> <p>? Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a professional</p> <p>demeanor with people at all levels within the organization and from diverse</p> <p>backgrounds.</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>?
