<p>Job Title: Full-Time Accompanist - Departments of Dance and Music</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Departments of Dance and Music invite applications for a full-time accompanist (9 months per year) to support our dynamic programs. This is a three-year, renewable position shared by two distinct departments; we require a versatile and skilled collaborative pianist who can accompany dance classes, music ensembles, and individual students while fostering a collaborative and educational environment in an undergraduate liberal arts setting.</p> <p>Start Date: September 1, 2025</p> <p>Application Deadline: Priority will be given to applications received by March 30,2025</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with individual vocal and instrumental students in lessons, rehearsals, and performances. </li><li>Accompany dance classes across various disciplines, including ballet and modern dance. </li><li>Accompany choral ensembles and interpret choral scores in weekly rehearsals and concerts </li><li>Collaborate with faculty and students in both departments to enhance musical and dance performances. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience collaborating with vocalists and instrumentalists in lessons and performances. </li><li>Proficiency in accompanying dance classes across multiple styles. </li><li>Experience accompanying choral ensembles under the direction of a conductor. </li><li>Flexibility in work schedule, including evening and weekend hours </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent sight-reading skills. </li><li>Strong improvisation skills. </li><li>Flexibility and versatility in repertoire across different musical genres and time periods. </li><li>Experience working with students of all levels in an undergraduate liberal arts setting. </li><li>Experience and/or interest in integrating technology into one's musical practice. </li></ul> <p>Application Process:</p> <p>Interested candidates should submit a CV, cover letter, names and contact information for three references, and supporting materials (Ex: video/audio reels) demonstrating their qualifications and experience.</p> <p>Salary: $58,000 plus comprehensive benefits.</p> <p>All bargaining unit members shall be covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Skidmore College and Services Employees International Union, Local 200United.</p> <p>EEO STATEMENT</p> <p>Skidmore College is committed to being an inclusive campus community and, as an Equal Opportunity Employer, does not discriminate in its hiring or employment practices on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, gender, age, national or ethnic origin, physical or mental disability, military or veteran status, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, predisposition or carrier status, domestic violence victim status, familial status, dating violence, or stalking, or any other category protected by applicable federal, state or local laws.</p> <p>Employment at Skidmore College is contingent upon an acceptable background check result.</p> <p>CREATIVE THOUGHT MATTERS.</p> <p>No Visa Sponsorship is available for this position</p>
