<p>To perform this position successfully, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience with Court documents and Courtroom protocol and procedure is preferred, but not required, if the applicant has other experience with administrative work in professional environments.</p> <p>The position serves as Court Reporter for the Circuit Court, Division 1, with primary responsibility for performing basic Court Reporter tasks as assigned. The reporter also performs numerous tasks related to facilitating the proper functioning of the Circuit Court and must successfully interact with existing court staff and employees of other offices.</p> <p>DUTIES:</p> <p>The successful applicant would utilize the Odyssey Case Management System, Odyssey E-file and Serve, Microsoft Word, and other resources as directed by the court. They would make proper, basic entries, interact with court stakeholders (Attorneys, Prosecutors, Probation Officers, etc.), prepare common court documents and paperwork, and perform other miscellaneous Court Reporter tasks. Most work time will focus on processing digital documents and creating a digital record of the court's actions.</p> <p>Duties include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>The Court Reporter would perform Criminal/Civil court duties as assigned by the Lead Court Reporter or Judge. </li><li>The Court Reporter may perform any/all the following tasks as necessary to facilitate the most efficient function of the court: </li><li>Answer telephone inquiries professionally, in accordance with Judicial standards/ethics. </li><li>Politely and professionally assist the public with inquiries and information. </li><li>Make (type) accurate entries on civil and criminal court dockets. </li><li>Distribute paperwork properly (to attorneys, file folders, etc.). </li><li>The Lead Court Reporter or Judge may assign other duties. </li></ul>
