The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills to effectively manage a comprehensive program encompassing practice sessions, competitions, and school spirit. This role requires an individual capable of inspiring student-athletes and promoting sportsmanship while possessing exceptional coaching abilities, leadership qualities, and a profound understanding of competitive swimming. The ideal Head Coach is called to be Kind, Collaborative, Innovative, Zealous, Engaged, Joyful and Effective at their job.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in any field (master's degree preferred) </li><li>Minimum of 5 years' coaching experience in competitive swimming and/or diving, preferably at the high school level </li><li>Strong knowledge of swimming and diving techniques, training methodologies, and competitive strategies </li><li>Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills </li><li>Must be able to communicate well with parents, athletes and the athletic department </li><li>Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes </li></ul> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement training programs tailored to enhance the performance of our swim team </li><li>Conduct practice sessions, focusing on technique, endurance, and competitive strategies </li><li>Manage swim meets, including scheduling events and coordinating logistics </li><li>Monitor student-athlete academic performance and promote the balance between academics and athletics </li><li>Evaluate individual athlete performance, providing constructive feedback to facilitate improvement </li><li>Lead fundraising initiatives to support the swim program as needed </li><li>Manage the swim team budget, schedule games and practices, help to arrange transportation, and oversee uniform distribution </li><li>Familiarity with IHSAA rules and regulations </li><li>CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certification preferred </li></ul>
