<p>Job Summary: A Dump Truck Driver operates heavy, on-road trucks. Drivers are required to maintain detailed logs on the substance(s) being hauled and their weight, and they must have that information available for inspection at all times. Additionally, drivers are expected to do regular safety checks of their vehicles, in the form of walk-around visual inspections.</p> <p>Drivers are given a route and expected to follow it. This allows deliveries to be executed on schedule and ensures that the driver uses only roads that permit heavy truck operation.</p> <p>Drivers are expected to follow all safety regulations for the operation of their vehicle both at the job site and at the delivery locations. Drivers are expected to do all they can to maintain the uncontaminated state of their product through the hauling process and delivery.</p> <p>Drivers must possess any certification required by the State of South Carolina to operate these heavy vehicles. Drivers must also maintain a clean driving record.</p> <p>Drivers Must:</p> <ul> <li>Inspect truck before and after trips and submit report indicating truck condition. </li><li>Read bill of lading to determine assignment. </li><li>Fasten chain or binders to secure load on trailer during transit. </li><li>Load, unload or assists in loading and unloading truck. </li><li>Must be able to use electronic communication devices. </li></ul> <p>Follow regulations</p> <ul> <li>Observe OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations </li><li>Follow all company and regulatory agency safety policies </li><li>Maintain a valid commercial driver's license and medical card. </li></ul> <p>Operate vehicle safely</p> <ul> <li>Check lights and safety equipment daily </li><li>Obey all traffic laws, including: </li><li>driving within posted speed limits </li><li>stopping and looking for traffic at all stop signs </li><li>Drive defensively </li><li>Report any unsafe equipment or working conditions to your supervisor </li><li>Allow no riders who have not been approved by your supervisor </li></ul>
