<p>The Position:</p> <p>Assistant Coach, Football</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Muhlenberg College, a Division III institution and a member of the Centennial Conference, is seeking applications for a full-time Assistant Football Coach. Responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all phases of the football program within College, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.</p> <p>Characteristic Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <p>Coaching and Student-Athlete Experience</p> <ul> <li> <p>Under the general direction of the head coach, provide leadership and coaching in support of the mission of the College and Athletics department.</p> </li><li> <p>Administer a competitive NCAA Division III football program in accordance with college, NCAA, and Centennial Conference policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Coach, motivate, counsel, and support student-athletes in realizing their potential for personal growth and development as student-athletes and members of the college community.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and deliver practice sessions, training sessions, team meetings, and contests (home and away).</p> </li></ul> <p>Recruitment and Retention</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain recruiting software, monitor the various recruiting services, and analyze national and regional recruiting trends.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish and meet recruitment goals, oversee on-campus recruiting, including correspondence with recruits.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop recruiting plan for specific geographic areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Build relationships with high schools and coaches.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in summer programming and off campus recruiting including showcases and college clinics.</p> </li><li> <p>Create positive environment with student athletes during position meetings and other football events.</p> </li></ul> <p>Professional Development and Community Engagement</p> <ul> <li> <p>Create positive support for the program within and outside of the campus community, including alumni, parents and friends of Muhlenberg College.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with Head Coach to develop an annual professional development plan that will ensure awareness of trends, best practices, new information, etc. related to athletics, student development, leadership and diversity and inclusion practices and skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead and participate in Divisional and College-wide committees and initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in hiring, mentoring and supervising part-time assistant coaches.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend meetings and training as required by the head coach and athletics director.</p> </li><li> <p>Actively participate in fundraising activities in support of the program and the Football 100 Club.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in achieving team success within and beyond the conference.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Schedule & Benefits: At Muhlenberg, we value your work/life balance and are pleased to offer this full-time, year-round opportunity. Home to a vibrant arts scene, extensive parks and recreational opportunities, a rich blend of diverse cuisine, and so much more, visit Life in the Lehigh Valley | Muhlenberg College and check out Allentown here.</p> <p>While no one person may possess all the qualifications listed below, the ideal candidate will have many of the following professional experiences and characteristics:</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree required.</p> </li><li> <p>Related professional experience or a combination of professional and athletic experience leading to a similar qualification required.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the Division III philosophy of athletics and adherence to NCAA regulations regarding operation of athletic programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Teaching and athletics administration background preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive academic and professional environment where all members of our campus community are respected, valued, can succeed, and thrive.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong planning and organizational skills are essential.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to manage multiple tasks and engage with a varied audience, including but not limited to students, parents, College employees, alumni, and community relations.</p> </li><li> <p>Flexibility of time necessary to make commitment to varying time needs of the position.
