<p>What We Need YOU To Do:</p> <p>The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest environmental specialist in the Division of Surface Water (DSW) at our Northeast District Office in Twinsburg, Ohio.</p> <p>Ready to get started?</p> <p>As Ohio EPA's environmental specialist, you'll serve as the project coordinator for the statewide water quality management plan (208 Plan), performing complex professional, technical, and administrative duties related to the plan's development and implementation. You'll develop plans and programs to address regional water resource management, represent the agency while engaging with various community stakeholders, and develop and maintain GIS maps for facility planning areas.</p> <p>You'll participate in regular meetings with local areawide planning agencies to set work plans and deliverables under state and federal grant awards, while also reviewing grant awardees to determine eligibility for their reimbursement of invoices with grant funds. You'll be the statewide water quality management plan's main contact, providing technical assistance to agency staff, local governments, and other stakeholders to help them meet water quality and other related environmental requirements.</p> <p>In addition, you'll coordinate semi-annual certification updates of the 208 Plan by getting input from areawide planning agencies on local plan changes. You'll answer inquiries from other government agencies and the public regarding the 208 Plan and represent the agency at public hearings, meetings, and conferences as needed.</p> <p>Here's a quick review:</p> <ul> <li>Perform complex professional, technical, and administrative duties related to developing and implementing the statewide water management plan. </li><li>Develop plans and programs to address regional water resource management with the counties that Ohio EPA is the designated management agency. </li><li>Develop and maintain GIS maps for facility planning areas. </li><li>Review quarterly invoices from awardees to determine eligibility using approved annual work plans for reimbursement with grant funds. </li><li>Provide technical assistance to agency staff, local governments, and others regarding meeting water quality and related environmental requirements. </li></ul> <p>Apply today, and let's talk!</p> <p>This job may require frequent in state travel to meet with various stakeholders. All applicants shall have a valid drivers license and be willing to attend public engagement outside normal work hours as needed.</p> <ul> <li>7 yrs. relevant programmatic exp. </li><li>OR combination of education in environmentally focused discipline or other job-related discipline & specific programmatic experience equaling 7 yrs. </li><li>OR completion of undergraduate core coursework in environmentally-related discipline; AND 3 yrs. relevant programmatic exp. </li><li>OR 2 yrs. relevant programmatic experience as Environmental Supervisor, 85865. </li><li>OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. </li></ul> <p>Note: For all positions involved in field work, applicants must be able to provide own transportation.
