Builds stable working relationships internally.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification. </li><li>Previous experience (0 to 2 years) in a related role or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>General understanding of server administration and architecture (Windows Server, Linux). </li><li>Ability to interact with relational databases (primarily Oracle, some SQL Server). </li><li>Basic support knowledge of applications/technology being supported. </li><li>Basic support knowledge of desktop operating systems and desktop efficiency applications (MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio, etc.). </li><li>Ability to troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of application problems, if necessary, working with other departments or software vendors. </li><li>Self-motivated with the initiative to see issue resolution through to completion. </li><li>Results-driven approach with a strong emphasis on effective communication. </li><li>Positive attitude with a dedication to producing high-quality work. </li><li>Ability to learn new technical skills. </li></ul> <p>Management Role:</p> <p>No management responsibility.</p> <p>Working Conditions and Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Work is performed in an office/laboratory/clinical and/or home office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. </li><li>For Labs-based staff, travel up to 60-80% of time, domestically with extended overnight stays. Light/occasional travel for corporate-based staff. </li><li>For Labs-based staff, exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. </li><li>Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments, and gloves. </li><li>Exposure to fluctuating and/or extreme temperatures on rare occasions. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day. </li><li>Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. </li><li>Frequent mobility required. </li><li>Occasional crouching, stooping, bending, and twisting of the upper body and neck. </li><li>Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs. </li><li>Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf. </li><li>Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. </li><li>Frequently interacts with others to acquire or relate information to diverse groups. </li><li>Works independently with little mentorship or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals.
