Coordinates shipments with customer service/sales and truck carriers.</p> <p>Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li>Plans and prepares all necessary shipping documents for sales to customers and interplant shipments. </li><li>Coordinates with other company facilities to correct errors or coordinate the timing of shipments. </li><li>Works with customer service to meet customer shipment deadlines. </li><li>Monitors inventory by assisting in cycle counts and keeping bin locations accurate. </li><li>Dispatches shipments to the appropriate truck carriers. Maintains and distributes shipment logs and other reports as needed. </li><li>Assists in entering and maintaining time and attendance reporting. </li><li>May handle receiving plant and warehouse materials and products and documenting shipments and logging in to the database. </li><li>Performs other duties that may be assigned. </li></ul> <p>Nature and Scope</p> <ul> <li>Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor. </li><li>Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor. </li><li>None. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. </li><li>Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. </li><li>Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Three (3) years prior shipping experience in manufacturing or logistics </li><li>Skill in ERP mainframe data entry </li><li>Computer with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications </li></ul> <p>If you're looking to play a role in building America, consider one of our open opportunities.
