<p>Overview</p> <p>The Human Resource Business Partner provides leadership and direction to business leaders and teammates concerning human resources activities and initiatives. This role is an instrumental advisor and resource on the subject of talent management including teammate relations, performance management, engagement and development. A successful individual will partner with business leaders and teammates to optimize our teammates' experience and provide leadership in shaping an inclusive culture, driving collaboration and building partnerships. This role has a high degree of collaboration across the organization, the broader HR department team members and legal team.</p> <p>Who We Are</p> <p>CubeSmart is a publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT) focused on the development, acquisition, disposition, and management of self-storage facilities. We are excited to have you join our team and grow with us!</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.</p> <p>Business Partnership</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a coach and trusted advisor to business leaders on all aspects of Talent Management </li><li>Execute on talent management strategies that support the growth of the business </li><li>Act as steward for attracting, developing and retaining diverse talent in the organization </li><li>Analyze people data and recommend the best action steps for the business </li><li>Support all teammate employment activity including recruitment, development, job performance, investigations, disciplinary action, and other CubeSmart processes </li></ul> <p>Coaching/Development</p> <ul> <li>Provide coaching and counseling to all levels of management on talent activities including career development, performance management, engagement, compensation, and teammate relations </li><li>Provide guidance to individual managers regarding managerial styles, skills and performance </li><li>Drive performance management within the business unit; including annual performance reviews, 360 reviews and performance assessments </li><li>Support the development of top talent by facilitating talent reviews, executing development programs and educating the organization on talent best practices </li><li>Present training programs in all areas of human resources functions </li></ul> <p>Teammate Relations</p> <ul> <li>Independently conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations performing root cause analysis, mitigating risk, and developing plans that support positive outcomes in line with company values </li><li>Provide coaching and counseling to managers and teammates to resolve teammate relations issues and conflict, and to minimize CubeSmart's legal risk in employment matters </li><li>Inform and advise teammates of the CubeSmart human resource policies and procedures </li><li>Provide ongoing communication to teammates at all levels concerning CubeSmart programs impacting teammates </li></ul> <p>Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Ensure all CubeSmart employment processes are completed timely including but not limited to Workflow, Performance Reviews, maintenance of teammate personnel files, etc. </li><li>Understand, communicate, and ensure compliance with all CubeSmart employment policies and procedures and any applicable laws </li><li>Develop and maintain in depth, current knowledge and understanding of applicable wage and hour laws, local compensation issues, federal, state and local laws and regulations and legislation affecting employment </li></ul> <p>Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Serve as primary human resources liaison between headquarters and Divisional Offices; create and maintain a close partner relationship with Division and headquarters management </li><li>Work with CubeSmart's internal and external legal counsel on employment issues including but not limited to at risk terminations, subpoenas, and lawsuits as necessary </li><li>Work collaboratively with recruiting team on recruitment and retention activities </li><li>Lead broader HR department initiatives as determined </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>(Education, licenses, certifications and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required):</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required </li><li>Master's degree or Human Resource certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred </li><li>Minimum of 5 years human resources experience of which a minimum of 5 years' experience as a human resources business partner who resolved complex HR issues (including teammate relations and investigations) required </li><li>Experience in large (1000+) company preferred </li><li>Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as experience working with HRIS systems required. </li></ul> <p>We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, Minority/Female/Veteran/Individuals with Disabilities/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity</p> <p>#LI-MT1</p>
