<p>Req Id: 36121</p> <p>Job Title: Student CAD & Remote Sensing Systems Assistant - Student Service</p> <p>City: West Lafayette</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Institute for Digital Forestry is seeking a mechanically inclined student to assist in the development of cutting-edge remote sensing hardware systems. This position offers hands-on experience with CAD design, prototyping, and hardware/electronics integration for advanced mobile-mapping and forestry research. The ideal candidate will have a passion for prototyping, design, innovation, and a desire to contribute to academic research and commercialization.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Enrollment or significant experience in technical fields related to Engineering, Aviation, Technology, or Design.</p> <p>Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., Inventor, Fusion 360, KiCAD).</p> <p>Strong hands-on skills with electrical and mechanical tools and assemblies.</p> <p>Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.</p> <p>Interest in software development is a plus.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities & Skill Development</p> <p>Students employed in this role will develop and demonstrate a number of transferable skills essential for future employment success.
