<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Teach ADN Nursing courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies; develop, revise, and maintain course materials; recommend/design new programs; maintain office hours; participate in appropriate professional development opportunities; participate in College and community activities, promote the mission of the College; develop/implement retention strategies; assist in graduate placement; attend graduation ceremony; assist with student advising and registration; serve on College committees; promote institutional goals; assist department chair with administrative responsibilities. Teaching may be on any campus, or by distance learning, and may be days, nights, weekends or a combination.</p> <p>TEACHING PERFORMANCE - The ability to present course materials through appropriate instructional strategies to facilitate the learning process.</p> <p>INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT - The development, revision, and maintenance of courses and curriculum through course objectives, outlines, and appropriate materials.</p> <p>INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT - The effective use of required office hours, exhibition of effective classroom management and control, and timely and accurately submitted reports.</p> <p>STUDENT ADVISEMENT - The participation of the faculty member, when applicable, in assisting students in personal and professional development.</p> <p>COLLEGE AND/OR COMMUNITY SERVICES - The participation in College activities and the promotion of the College through public service.</p> <p>PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - The participation of the faculty member in activities designed to develop professional skills so as to maintain and improve proficiency in his/her present position.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Master of science degree in Nursing. </li><li>Unencumbered South Carolina Registered Nurse license, either primary license or via state compact. </li><li>Two years' clinical experience in the area of responsibility </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Five years Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred. </li><li>Prior collegiate-level nursing instruction preferred. </li><li>Certified Nurse Educator preferred. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>This position will be a direct report to the Dean of Nursing.</p>
