No</p> <p>County New York</p> <p>Street Address Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park - Aquatics Complex</p> <p>679 Riverside Drive</p> <p>City New York</p> <p>StateNY</p> <p>Zip Code10031</p> <p>Duties Description Under the supervision of a Recreational Complex Manager or higher-level park management, the Water Safety Supervisor 2 is assigned to the Aquatics Complex, coordinates, implements, evaluates, and supervises aquatics programming, water safety programming and pool operations at Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park.</p> <ul> <li>Works closely with Aquatics Management to develop lifeguards and coordinate the state lifeguard exam. </li><li>Coordinating and/or teaching learn to swim programs, </li><li>Supervision and assignment of seasonal lifeguards, Water Safety and Instruction Assistants and lower-level Water Safety and Instruction Supervisors, </li><li>Scheduling of water safety staff coverage and complex coverage as needed, assisting with staff recruitment and testing programs, </li><li>Presenting and coordinating in-service training for all staff, </li><li>Reviewing and assuring staff familiarity with all agency and facility safety policies and procedures regarding pool operations, </li><li>Performing facility inspections including staff and public use areas for cleanliness and safety, </li><li>Supervising physical training and conditioning activities of water safety staff, </li><li>Providing recommendations for equipment needs, </li><li>Performing equipment inventories, </li><li>Protecting swimming areas, </li><li>Must be able to conduct tests for turbidity, residual chlorine, and PH levels. </li><li>Work closely with volunteers, the community, and vendors to assure NYS Parks' mission is always met. </li><li>Perform administrative duties as assigned for overall operational support like preparing and checking sign-in sheets and seasonal payroll. </li><li>Preparing written reports and </li><li>Performing other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications A minimum of one year of experience as a lifeguard is required. At least six months of that experience must have been in a supervisory capacity. Additionally, candidates must possess and maintain current certifications in the following American Red Cross programs or their equivalents: Lifeguard Training and CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid (if not included as part of the certification for lifeguarding). The Water Safety & Instruction Supervisor 2 must also obtain during the probationary period (if they do not already possess the certifications at the time of hire) and maintain instructor ratings in First Aid, CPR/AED and Lifeguarding as well as a Water Safety Instructor certification. Candidates must pass a practical test of CPR and water skills.
