<p>Position at MTA Bus Company</p> <p>Department: Buses Contract Services</p> <p>Location: 25 Jamaica Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11207</p> <p>Position Title: Contract Services, Emerging Talent Intern</p> <p>Hourly Rate: $19.00 (Undergraduate), $21.00 (Graduate), $22.00 (Post-Graduate)</p> <p>Overview of Department:</p> <p>Contract Services is an Operations Support function that impacts the MTA through facility maintenance, bus maintenance assistance and technical services. Contract Services is involved with most Bus user groups and their functions in providing service.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Data analysis- Researching trends in Contractor performance. </li><li>Review and edit contract scopes of work prior to solicitation. </li><li>Review vendor invoices for payment by confirming adherence to contract pricing and verifying labor hours. </li><li>Accompany management on visits to bus depots to resolve issues related to contractor services. </li><li>Internet research to discover solutions to problems facing the Department of Bus user groups. </li><li>Market surveys to find vendors interested in doing business with the MTA. </li><li>Monitor contract budgets using PeopleSoft to ensure that there is adequate funding. </li><li>Produce reports related to contract terms used to monitor expiration and renewal timelines. </li></ul> <p>Projects:</p> <ul> <li>Bus Maintenance and supply contracts. </li><li>Bus facility maintenance contracts. </li><li>Employee uniform contracts. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must. </li><li>The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills. </li><li>The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively. </li><li>The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player. </li><li>Good analytical and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to craft comprehensive emails that will be reviewed by management. </li></ul> <p>Required Education</p> <ul> <li>Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least a 2.5 GPA or grad program with at least a 2.8 GPA </li><li>Major(s) Preferred: Business Administration, Legal, and Urban Planning, or related field. </li></ul> <p>All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of application.
