<p>2025-2026 K-12 Intervention Specialist - Autism Classroom - SIGN ON BONUS!!! Contact Sheri McClurg with any questions at smcclurg@fairfieldesc.org</p> <p>All Applicants residing 2 or more Hours away: 2025-2026 Sign-on Bonus for fully licensed Intervention Specialist totaling $6,000 paid in three (3) installments of $2,000 each on the first pay of each contract year for three years. Failure to return each contract year will result in forfeiture of the remaining bonus payments.</p> <p>Title: Intervention Specialist-Multi Handicapped</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Possession of baccalaureate or higher degree in an approved program for special education </li><li>Valid Ohio License </li><li>HQT </li><li>Strong knowledge of IDEA requirements/guidelines and Ohio's Operating Standards for the Education of Children with Disabilities </li><li>Required criminal background check </li><li>Meets USCIS I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Meets Science of Reading and Dyslexia State Professional Development Requirements </li></ul> <p>Reports To: Superintendent/Designee</p> <p>Job Goal: Provide an appropriate and quality educational program to students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities and develop the students' academic skills in area(s) determined by the IEP (Individualized Educational Plan) and building data.</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li>Provides an appropriate educational program for students in accordance with adopted State Board of Education rules and Fairfield County ESC policies and procedures. </li><li>Develops, implements, and evaluates an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) for each student in the class including parent goals. </li><li>Uses with the students a variety of instructional strategies, interventions, and accommodations to improve their success in school. </li><li>Provide clear objectives for all lessons and projects and clearly communicate the objectives to the students. </li><li>Administers and adheres to IDEA requirements/guidelines and the Ohio's Operating Standards for the Education of Children with Disabilities. </li><li>Consults with administrative and supervisory personnel regarding progress and problems of students and the program. </li><li>Works cooperatively with other classroom teachers, interpreting the abilities and disabilities of the students to the entire staff to assure the integration of the students into the total school program. </li><li>Responsible for the collection of data for providing appropriate classroom instruction, accommodations and/or interventions. </li><li>Coordinate with supervisor all necessary testing requirements i.e. schedules, accommodations, alternate assessments, etc. </li><li>Responsible for the collection of data needed for local, state, and federal reports, as necessary. </li><li>Assess students' progress, expectations, and goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents, administration, and/or for the purpose of developing remediation plans. </li><li>Informs parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of supporting expectations, developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment. </li><li>Conducts parent-teacher conferences. </li><li>Responds to parent communication in a timely manner. </li><li>Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment. </li><li>Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution. </li><li>Recommend policies, procedures, and programs essential to the needs of children with special needs. </li><li>Assist in screening, evaluating, and placement of children and the transition of a student to other programs. </li><li>Consults with nurse, psychologists, speech/language pathologist, audiologist, and other specialists working with the students, and keeps supervisor abreast of all issues and/or concerns as it pertains to the students. </li><li>Organizes physical space of classroom for effective instruction. </li><li>Keeps records of attendance, progress, and all other records pertinent to the program and Fairfield County ESC procedures guiding record keeping. </li><li>Maintains, oversees, and recommend repair or purchase of specialized learning equipment for use by faculty and students. </li><li>Understand positive behavior and best practices for improving academic and behavior outcomes for all students. </li><li>Undertakes continuing professional study including participation in the activities of professional organizations, enrollment in university level classes, and personal investigation of current literature pertaining to children with disabilities. </li><li>Attends in-service training sessions, as assigned by Fairfield County ESC Supervisor or Superintendent/Designee. </li><li>Complies with policies and procedures established by the Fairfield County ESC and the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators. </li></ol> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes, and Other Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li>Knowledge of Ohio's Learning Standards and IDEA Requirements. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with others. </li><li>Ability to communicate ideas and directions clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. </li><li>Organizational and problem solving skills. </li><li>Ability to generate correspondence independently. </li><li>Respects confidences shared by the staff and operates in a discreet manner in all related matters. </li><li>Performs other tasks and assumes responsibilities as the Superintendent/Designee directs. </li></ol> <p>Additional Working Conditions:</p> <ol> <li>Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue. </li><li>Occasional operation of vehicle under inclement weather conditions. </li><li>Occasional alternative/flexible hours/days. </li><li>Occasional travel. </li><li>Occasional interaction with aggressive, disruptive, and unruly children, and may need to assist with behavioral interventions. </li><li>Occasional interruption of duties by staff and/or telephone. </li><li>Occasionally required to assist and lift children with mobility, medical, and physical needs, and occasionally assist with getting children on and off transportation vehicles. </li><li>Supplemental contracts or compensation may be awarded by the district for additional duties and
