<p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Clinical Sleep Technologist works under the general supervision of the director, manager, supervisor, or their designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders in the sleep center or home sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.</p> <p>A clinical sleep technologist is credentialed in sleep technology (RSPGT).</p> <p>SLEEP STUDY PREPARATION AND SET-UP</p> <ul> <li>Collect, analyze and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs (physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status regarding the testing procedure, pertinent medical /social history). </li><li>Determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols. </li><li>Review the patient's history and verify the medical order. </li><li>Follow sleep center protocols related to the sleep study. </li><li>When patient arrives, verify identification, collect documents and obtain consent for the study. </li><li>Explain the procedure and orient the patient for either in center or home sleep apnea testing. </li><li>Provide age-appropriate patient education. </li><li>Select appropriate equipment and calibrate for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments, if necessary. </li><li>Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards. </li><li>Perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) interface fitting and desensitization. </li></ul> <p>Wednesday through Friday - 6:00pm - 6:00am</p> <p>#READ</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role. </li><li>High School Diploma - OR - GED </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Relevant Experience </li></ul> <p>Certification and Licensure</p> <ul> <li>Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) </li><li>CPR Certification </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Excellent Communications Skills </li><li>Excellent Interpersonal Skills Excellent </li><li>Teamwork Skills </li><li>Multitasking </li><li>Medical Terminology </li><li>Computer Skills to include use and navigation </li><li>Analytical Skills </li><li>Customer Service Skills </li><li>Keyboarding </li><li>Detail Oriented </li><li>Problem Solving Skills </li><li>Organizational Skills </li><li>Listening Skills </li><li>Collaborative Skills </li><li>Leadership Skills </li><li>Good Reasoning Skills </li><li>Strategic Thinking </li><li>Relationship-Building Skills </li><li>Delegation Skills </li><li>Microsoft Office Applications </li><li>Strong Team Player </li><li>Service Orientation </li><li>Safety Orientation </li></ul> <p>Overview</p> <p>Discover why our hospital is a great place to work-take a virtual tour of our facility here: Reading Hospital Virtual Tour</p>
