Union Street in Athens, Ohio.</p> <p>Applicants can find out more information about the position here: https://athenscbdd.org/</p> <p>Posting Number 20161600STD Job Description</p> <p>Summer Camp Counselors perform a variety of program activities including:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Implements typical camp activities for groups of children attending the summer camp (i.e. swimming, art, music, hiking, games, sports, field trips, outdoor activities, etc.). Actively participates with children during activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures children follow camp rules to be outlined at staff training. Ensures safety of children while participating in camp activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in feeding and serving meals to campers.</p> </li><li> <p>Assigned to a camp team for the summer camp.</p> </li><li> <p>Special Working Conditions: Physical intervention and assistance to ensure children can actively participate safely in camp activities is inherent to this job. This includes assisting children with changing clothes, using the restroom, and eating and drinking. These tasks occasionally result in bruises, scrapes, etc. to the camp counselor. Working conditions may include exposure to blood borne pathogens, communicable disease, potentially infectious materials, and/or aggressive behavior.</p> </li></ol> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Must be currently enrolled at Ohio University or other university (Hocking College, University of Rio Grande, Ohio State University, Marietta College, etc.)</p> <p>Must be at least 18 years old at time of application.</p> <p>Must be available to work 8 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday, during mandatory training week June 9th through June 13th.</p> <p>Must be available to work 7:45 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, for the majority of camp dates (June 16th through July 11th, days off on June 19th and July 4th).</p> <p>Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.</p> <p>Successful applicants will be required to pass both state and federal background checks.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Experience working with school-aged children with and without disabilities.</p> <p>Department Kids On Campus Pay Rate</p> <p>Starting at $12.00 per hour</p> <p>Posting Open Date 03/03/2025 Posting End Date 05/02/2025 Job Category Student Hourly Planning Unit College of Health Sciences & Professions Work Schedule</p> <p>See "Minimum Qualifications" above for schedules.</p> <p>Campus Athens Applicants may contact this person if they have questions about this position.
