<p>Overview</p> <p>GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:</p> <p>Under the direct supervision of the assigned manager, the High School Intern is responsible for basic tasks to support a designated department. These tasks may be administrative or research oriented, depending on the department. For research-based departments, the High School Intern will be responsible for basic laboratory tasks. Specific job responsibilities will vary by department but may include information gathering, data entry, writing, editing and/or laboratory work. This is a temporary, non-benefitted role.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Clerical:</p> <ul> <li>Perform a variety of routine administrative duties </li><li>Perform data entry </li><li>Conduct research to assist other team members </li><li>Assist with the creation of reports and data analysis </li><li>Perform other duties as required </li></ul> <p>Research:</p> <ul> <li>Perform basic experiments according to written protocols </li><li>Perform normal laboratory maintenance tasks </li><li>Prepare laboratory media and solutions. </li><li>Operate research equipment (i.e. scintillation counters, microscopes, centrifuges, balances) and record results </li><li>Perform basic library searches, reading and copying relevant materials. </li><li>Perform data entry </li><li>Perform other duties as required </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High School student or recent High School graduate </li><li>Basic analytical and communication skills </li><li>Attention to detail with the ability to collect and record information from a wide variety of sources </li><li>Ability to use standard office tools and software (MS-Office) </li><li>Must be reliable and able to set consistent work hours </li></ul>
