<p>Under the direction of the facilities/maintenance director, the maintenance assistant maintains the physical plant, grounds, and all equipment to ensure a safe, attractive, and enjoyable environment for the students and staff.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Carries out and follows all facility policies and procedures in regard to the operation of the maintenance department </li><li>Conducts periodic inspections of the facilities, correcting all damages </li><li>Services all mechanical equipment as instructed by the facilities/maintenance director </li><li>Maintains outside yards, athletic fields, sidewalks, and parking lots including mowing, trimming, raking, salting, shoveling, and sanding </li><li>Performs ongoing preventative maintenance programs and routine check on major systems and district owned buses </li></ul> <p>Reports To:</p> <p>Facilities/Maintenance Director</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations </li><li>Ability to demonstrate general mechanical skills </li><li>Possess general knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing repair, and carpentry skills </li><li>Ability to efficiently plan and utilize time while working with minimal supervision </li><li>Ability to exert 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects </li><li>Ability to stoop, climb, stand for prolonged periods of time and perform physical labor, physical mobility, and stamina to participate in activities which may be strenuous </li><li>Ability to pass criminal background check </li></ul> <p>Contract:</p> <ul> <li>None; non-certified; full-time; hourly </li><li>260 days with 9 paid holidays </li><li>Health, dental, vision insurance </li></ul>
