<p>ELA Teacher (9-12), Schnee Learning Center 2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: Until filled</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>Schnee Learning Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time ELA teacher to engage, educate, and inspire students in grades 9-12. This teacher will focus on fostering academic growth within a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. Candidates with experience working with at-risk students are highly encouraged to apply.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Valid Ohio teaching license in English/Language Arts (7-12)</p> </li><li> <p>Completed Ohio Science of Reading professional development</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated experience or the ability to work with at-risk student populations.</p> </li><li> <p>Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for helping students achieve their potential.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in technology to enhance instruction and communication.</p> </li><li> <p>Successful completion of all pre-employment screenings.</p> </li><li> <p>Additional qualifications as deemed acceptable by the Governing Board.</p> </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Instructional Design & Delivery</p> <ul> <li> <p>Create engaging lesson plans aligned with Ohio Learning Standards and Science of Reading principles while integrating Ohio Career-Tech standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Use innovative instructional methods, including collaboration, problem-based learning, and inquiry.</p> </li><li> <p>Integrate technology to enhance instruction and build students' critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Design real-world learning activities to demonstrate the relevance of ELA concepts.</p> </li><li> <p>Incorporate innovative teaching methods, including problem-based and inquiry-driven learning.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide authentic learning experiences connected to real-world applications, integrating Ohio Career-Tech and problem-solving.</p> </li></ul> <p>Student Support & Engagement</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment to support diverse learning needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish professional and constructive relationships with students to foster academic growth and social-emotional development.</p> </li><li> <p>Guide students in literacy, writing, active listening, and critical thinking skills while addressing individual educational needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Actively engage students in their learning through collaboration and self-direction.</p> </li></ul> <p>Assessment & Progress Monitoring</p> <ul> <li> <p>Use evidence-based assessments to measure, monitor, and improve student learning.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide ongoing, constructive feedback to students and parents through regular progress reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with colleagues to analyze data and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.</p> </li></ul> <p>Collaboration & Communication</p> <ul> <li> <p>Work closely with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to ensure continuity of instruction.</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with parents and community organizations to support student learning and career readiness.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend and contribute to professional development and team meetings, including those held after school.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate and timely student records, including grades, attendance, and behavioral documentation.</p> </li></ul> <p>Professional Development & Leadership</p> <ul> <li> <p>Continuously enhance professional skills through workshops, training, and reflective practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Support school leadership by contributing to initiatives that improve educational outcomes.</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Expectations:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain classroom order in a fair and just manner aligned to clearly communicated expectations.</p> </li><li> <p>Use of electronic tools for student recordkeeping, grading, and communication as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with planning and delivering intervention strategies for students in need of additional support in literacy and other areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Carry out other duties as assigned by the executive director/principal</p> </li></ul> <p>Compensation & Benefits:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.</p> </li><li> <p>The role includes standard benefits in accordance with district policies.</p> </li></ul> <p>Application Deadline:</p> <p>Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.</p> <p>Schnee Learning Center and Summit ESC are equal opportunity employers.</p>
