<p>Job Title: Criminal Justice Instructor</p> <p>Department: CTE</p> <p>Reports to: Building Principal</p> <p>FLSA: Non-Exempt</p> <p>Length of Contract: 190-day contract.</p> <p>Essential Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations. </li><li>Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students. </li><li>Confer with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems. </li><li>Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and to determine priorities for their children and their resource needs. </li><li>Instruct and monitor students in the use of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage. </li><li>Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress. </li><li>Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration. </li><li>Sponsor extracurricular activities such as clubs, student organizations, and academic contests; conduct fundraising activities consistent with district policies and procedures. </li><li>Attend staff meetings and serve on committees, as required. </li><li>Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and professional development sessions to maintain and improve professional competence. </li><li>Select, store, order, issue, and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies. </li><li>Perform student supervisory duties such as assisting in school libraries, hallways and cafeteria monitoring, and bus loading and unloading. </li><li>Adhere to student Individualized Education Program (IEP) and 504 plans. </li><li>Plan assignments for teacher assistance, volunteers, and substitutes. </li><li>Respond appropriately to student behavior. </li><li>Demonstrate care and respect when interacting with students. </li><li>Manage classroom procedures with limited loss of instructional time. </li><li>Ensure students are actively engaged in learning. </li><li>Provide timely, consistent, high-quality feedback to students. </li><li>Maintain professionalism with staff members. </li><li>Adhere to all policies of the District. </li></ul> <p>Other Duties: as assigned by building principal</p> <p>Education: Criminal Justice/Criminal Law Experience required</p> <p>Other Expectations: Successful completion of pre-employment background checks.</p> <p>Appropriate personal and professional conduct at all times around students, other staff members, and the general public.</p>
