This position works independently but also must work with other crew members from time to time. Must be a self-starter, have excellent attention to detail, reliable transportation, and willingness to learn.</p> <p>This position will work a 4 on 2 off schedule including weekends.</p> <p>7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am</p> <p>$21.25 to $21.75 per hour with a .50 cent shift differential for night shift.</p> <p>Must have prior steel mill or industrial furnace experience. Welding experience a plus!</p> <p>VAR Operator:</p> <p>Operates and monitors 4 VAR furnaces.</p> <p>Safely loads furnace using remote overhead crane, documenting bar identification and all required information.</p> <p>Maintains accurate record keeping of all furnace activity and communicates information to co-workers.</p> <p>Monitors chart recorders for cycle adherence to recipe. Ability to identify anomalies in the furnace performance and contacts/communicates to Technology, Maintenance, and Supervision</p> <p>Safely unloads bars from furnace at end of cycle and cools bars in manner directed by recipe using remote overhead crane.</p> <p>Documents and adheres to designated cycle times. Processes material in accordance with recipe</p> <p>Accurately records production data manually and in computerized production recording system. Understands data system and is capable of identifying/rectifying erroneous or inconsistent entries/results.</p> <p>Tools/equipment used: including but not limited to, IR Thermometer, calipers, measuring stick, tape measure, hot chalk, paint markers, go/no-go tools, TC load material and tools, label printers, stacker crane, forklift, furnace controllers.</p> <p>Welding as needed.</p> <p>All other duties as required.</p> <p>Job Type: Full-time</p> <p>Schedule:</p> <ul> <li>12 hour shift </li><li>4x12 </li><li>Day shift </li><li>Night shift </li><li>Weekend availability </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Heavy Industrial: 1 year (Required) </li><li>Overhead Crane: 1 year (Required) </li><li>Forklift: 1 year (Required) </li></ul> <p>Shift availability:</p> <ul> <li>Day Shift (Required) </li><li>Night Shift (Required) </li></ul> <p>Work Location: One location</p> <p>Universal Stainless is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
