The candidate must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable. Knowledge of industrial and home sewing equipment is required, along with a strong desire to learn new skills. Under the direction of the Lab Manager, the Studio Technician will interface with both faculty and students to assist in maintaining functional studio operations. This position works up to 19hrs/week.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with the Lab Manager to implement best practices for the fashion design labs. </li><li>Maintain and service sewing equipment regularly. </li><li>Organize and manage the Fabric/Materials room. </li><li>Maintain and service dress forms as needed. </li><li>Train students on both standard and specialty equipment as required. </li><li>Perform additional related duties as assigned by the Lab Manager. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design or related field. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience. </li><li>Strong communication skills tailored to diverse audiences. </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills in a dynamic and evolving environment. </li><li>Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekend shifts as needed. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Typically sitting at a desk/table </li><li>Lifting demands = 50lbs </li></ul> <p>Location</p> <ul> <li>University City - Philadelphia, PA </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>This is a Part-Time Casual position classified as Non-Exempt.
