<p>Position: 5th/6th Grade Visual Art Teacher</p> <p>Reports To: Building Principal</p> <p>Summary of Position:</p> <p>The Visual Art teacher will be responsible for working with students in grades 5 and 6. The Visual Art teacher instruct students in the skills and principles of art, such as drawing, painting, and color theory. They also help students develop an appreciation for the visual arts.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Classroom Instruction:</p> <p>? Create and implement dynamic lessons that incorporate a variety of art techniques, materials, and cultural perspectives to engage students in the creative process.</p> <p>? Foster critical thinking and artistic appreciation through dynamic teaching approaches.</p> <p>Instructional Support:</p> <p>? Collaborate with classroom teachers and families to provide support, resources, and strategies to enhance art instruction.</p> <p>? Accommodate student learning differences with a variety of instructional strategies to maintain high standards.</p> <p>Assessment and Data Analysis:</p> <p>? Evaluate student artwork, provide constructive feedback, and assess student progress through a variety of assessment methods, including observation, portfolios, and projects.</p> <p>Curriculum Development:</p> <p>? Design and implement engaging and age-appropriate art curriculum aligned with content taught in other subject areas, ensuring students develop fundamental art skills and knowledge.</p> <p>? Provide students with various opportunities to demonstrate their skillsets, such as projects and presentations.</p> <p>Professional Development:</p> <p>? Keep current on the latest trends, methodologies, and resources in visual art education by attending professional development seminars.</p> <p>Fostering Community:</p> <p>? Develop a community and environment where students feel safe, respected, and ready to meet new challenges and take appropriate risks.</p> <p>? Maintain regular contact with families and faculty members that clearly and effectively describes children's artistic skills and areas for support.</p> <p>? Consistently show understanding, respect, and sensitivity for cultural differences.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>? Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Visual Art Education / Valid Indiana Teaching License in Visual Art</p> <p>? Demonstrate a creative and innovative approach to teaching the visual arts utilizing a variety of artistic methods.</p> <p>? Proven knowledge, skills, and experience in elementary/middle school education with a focus on visual arts instruction.</p> <p>? Exhibit a genuine passion for the visual arts and a commitment to instilling a love for the subject in students.</p> <p>? Exude a warm, caring, flexible, knowledgeable, and dynamic personality.</p> <p>? Ability to build positive working relationships with students, families, and colleagues to create a supportive learning community.</p> <p>?
