The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for performing specific tests on manufactured products, evaluating and recording test results, and creating sample assessments using known formulations, raw materials, and color technology.</p> <p>Join the Americhem team where we help you unlock your full potential!</p> <p>What we offer you:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, dental, vision, prescription, life insurance </li><li>Short- and long-term disability insurance </li><li>401(k) with a generous company match and no vesting schedule </li><li>10-paid holidays, 120 hours of PTO </li><li>Job stability and security </li><li>Growth opportunities </li><li>Safe work environment </li><li>Great reputation in the industry </li><li>Exceptional culture </li><li>Free uniforms and wash service, annual boot voucher </li></ul> <p>Position Requirements/Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. </li><li>College degree/technical or vocational training preferred. </li><li>Experience: 1-2 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing/production preferred. </li></ul> <p>Desired Knowledge and Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Fundamental knowledge of materials, methods, machines and tools, including their designs and uses. </li><li>Fundamental knowledge of production processes and techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of products. </li><li>Fundamental knowledge of pigment, polymer, and additive materials and how they interact with each other. </li><li>Basic math skills (percentages and ratios). </li><li>Ability to see/identify color differences between sample plaques. </li><li>Ability to work independently and in a team setting. </li><li>Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. </li><li>Good communication and organizational skills. </li><li>Detail-oriented and quality-minded. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Holds safety in highest regard by making good safety decisions, following safety procedures, watching out for the safety of self and others, contributing to safety improvements, and participating in safety programs. </li><li>Creates sample plaques by preparing the compound according to the formulation sheet, mixing compound in the mixer, and flattening in the press out machine to pelletize. </li><li>Runs a sample mold by combining the resin and compound in a plastic bag, loading a saved slot on the injection mold machine, and dropping the concentrate/resin mixture into the machine hopper to create a sample plaque. </li><li>Runs a sample mill batch by combining the resin and compound onto a two-roll mill, and operating the mill to produce a sample chip. </li><li>Monitors the testing process by troubleshooting machine problems or operator errors that affects the quality of product samples and reports issues to the team leader. </li><li>Prepares formulations for the Production team in the ERP computer system. </li><li>Reads color plaques on a color spectrophotometer to determine numeric color position. </li><li>Operates basis physical testing equipment to evaluate production samples. </li><li>Yields and applies a grading designation to finished goods material in the ERP Computer System. </li><li>Records test results in the Product Encyclopedia and the ERP Computer System. </li><li>Prepares COA's (Certificates of Analysis) and color plaque samples for customers. </li></ul> <p>Learn more at www.americhem.com</p>
