<p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.</p> <p>The Director of Community Programs is responsible for the development, organization, implementation, and evaluation of community-based programs, which includes the delivery of a mobile program called Y on the Fly. This position is also directly responsible for the development of collaborative partnerships that lead to an expansion of community-based programs and services within the Greater Cleveland area, with a focus on east-side neighborhoods. The program director ensures that all operations i.e., direct program implementation and management duties are carried out in a manner that delivers exceptional service to program participants and donors.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Ensures programs and services meet community needs including supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information. </li><li>Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboards and develops them for success. </li><li>Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility. </li><li>Manages the program, including developing and monitoring the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program; oversight of the scheduling the needed facilities. </li><li>Collaborates with YMCA leadership and fund development staff to identify funding opportunities to ensure program sustainability. </li><li>Develop, manage and maintain relationships with community partners, parents' groups, other organizations and agencies related to program areas. </li><li>Supervise employees in assigned accountabilities, monitor program operation, scheduling and verify time sheets and actual hours worked. </li><li>Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures are followed at all times </li><li>Adhere to Blood borne Pathogen standards and attend annual training. </li><li>Ensure all classes taught are in accordance with YMCA of Cleveland standards and guidelines. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree preferred. </li><li>In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree in the related field and 2-3 years of related work experience or High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate of competency and 4-6 years of related work experience. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 2 years' experience supervising customer service and/or program management preferred. </li><li>Minimum 2 years' programming experience. </li></ul> <p>Certification(s) & Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 30 days of hire </li><li>Valid Ohio Driver's License </li></ul> <p>Technical Skills and Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent time management, customer service, attention to detail and organizational skills </li><li>Ability to multitask and handle high volume work </li><li>Have excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to be able to interact with all levels of the organization, including professionals, senior management, part-time employees and volunteers. </li><li>Ability to work cooperatively with others. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, associates, outside agencies, customers, and the public at large. </li><li>Must have the ability to create and deliver innovative program/marketing strategies. </li><li>Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative. </li><li>Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite with excellent Excel, Word, and Outlook skills </li><li>Management skills and strong business acumen, including problem-solving, ability to manage multiple programs and meet deadlines, collaboration, leadership, decision-making, and ability to analyze diverse facts and develop clear and concise reports and recommendations. </li><li>Demonstrate commitment to the mission, and cause of the YMCA, and uphold its values and ethics. </li><li>Ability to work effectively work with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions </li><li>Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect. All employees are required to follow the child abuse and neglect reporting process: completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form, calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate supervisor, branch executive, risk management and human resources department (s). </li></ul>
