This role will be for the 25-26 school year.</p> <p>Department: Special Education Department</p> <p>Reports to: Director of Special Education</p> <p>JOB PURPOSE:</p> <p>To support WRSSC to deliver quality services to students with BLV needs. Though this is a small number of students, to be fully compliant with Article 7 WRSSC requires having a credentialed staff member to serve our students with disabilities in the area of visual impairments throughout the district.</p> <p>The essential functions of this role are as follows:</p> <p>Provide instruction that addresses each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals and State standards.</p> <p>Assess and document student progress and report progress to parents via IEP updates.</p> <p>Provide support for students to ensure health, safety, and welfare.</p> <p>Lead professional learning for BLV student needs.</p> <p>Support student communication and advocacy.</p> <p>Exhibit attributes of reliable attendance, promptness, and dependability.</p> <p>Provide direct services and consults to students, families, and stakeholders.</p> <p>Provide consultative services to all teachers serving students on your caseload.</p> <p>You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree or higher in education/special education.</p> <p>Valid teaching license or temporary license through the State of Indiana and pursuing permanent licensure, I-SEAL candidates are welcome to apply.</p> <p>Specialized and current knowledge of the subject matter to be taught and the techniques used in the area of specialization.</p> <p>Specialized knowledge of equipment that may be utilized as teaching aids.</p> <p>Ability to show competency in vision/hearing-specific skills commensurate with the grade level in which the teacher is instructing.</p> <p>Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information.</p> <p>Working knowledge of school administrative guidelines and policies.</p> <p>Ability to evaluate the performance, skills, and progress of a student.</p> <p>Effective communication skills.</p> <p>Assist students in using self-control and self-management strategies.</p> <p>Contact: Jodie Akinbo</p> <p>Director of Special Education</p> <p>jakinbo@wrssc.org</p> <p>765-231-3180</p> <p>Competitive Salary: Commensurate with education and experience</p> <p>Full Time: 185 Day Contract</p> <p>Benefits Package</p> <p>Will consider part-time applicants</p>
