Interns will be assigned to a specific department within the hospital based on their interests, and will gain hands-on experience, mentoring, and professional development opportunities. The internship combines direct learning about the workings of a specialized department, with structured professional development sessions to enhance both technical and soft skills for future career advancement.</p> <p>We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Intern to support our Accounting department. This is an exciting opportunity to gain a well-rounded understanding of Community Engagement.</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Required Education:</p> <p>No education requirements</p> <p>Recommended Education:</p> <p>High school diploma or GED or equivalent</p> <p>Required Work Experience:</p> <p>Related Field - No experience required</p> <p>Recommended Work Experience:</p> <p>Formal education may substitute for work experience on a year-for-year basis (eg., one year of education = one year of experience)</p> <p>Required Certifications:</p> <p>Recommended Certifications:</p> <p>Description</p> <ul> <li>Departmental Experience: Assist with various tasks and projects in a specific department, gaining exposure to the daily operations and responsibilities of healthcare professionals. </li><li>Shadowing and Learning: Observe and interact with healthcare providers, staff, and leadership to understand the department's function within the hospital and the broader healthcare system. </li><li>Hands-On Projects: Work on a project related to the department's goals or initiatives, with guidance from mentors and supervisors. Projects may involve research, process improvement, or administrative support. </li><li>Professional Development: Participate in weekly workshops focused on skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and navigating healthcare careers. </li><li>Networking Opportunities: Attend meetings, seminars, and team discussions to build a professional network within the healthcare industry. </li><li>Feedback and Evaluation: Regular feedback sessions with your supervisor to track progress, provide support, and discuss career aspirations. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program (preferred fields include Business, Accounting or Healthcare Administration). </li><li>Strong interest in pediatric healthcare and a desire to explore different career paths within the healthcare industry. </li><li>Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. </li><li>Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic office technology. </li><li>Positive attitude, professionalism, and a willingness to learn. </li></ul> <p>2025 Elevate Summer Internship: June 2, 2025 - August 8, 2025</p> <p>Interviews: April 2025</p> <p>20 hours per week at $15 an hour.</p>
