<p>Req Id: 34789</p> <p>Job Title: CT/TT Assist or Assoc Professor, Neurology</p> <p>City: west lafayette</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, invites applications for a full-time (12 month) Clinical-track or Tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in Neurology. The successful candidate will become part of an established neurology/neurosurgery program and will join the current board-certified faculty members (1), 2 residents, 1 specialty intern and 2 neurology technicians. Equipment available on-site includes 1.5T MRI, a 64-slice CT scanner, a BrainSight neuro-navigation system, a Vitom exoscope, Cadwell electrodiagnostic equipment, and a rehabilitation suite with in-ground swimming pool, acupuncture room, and underwater and land treadmills.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications for the position include a DVM or equivalent degree, and completion of a neurology residency program registered by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) or the European College of Veterinary Neurology (ECVN), or board certification by the ACVIM or ECVN. This position does not require Educational Commission Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) certification or Indiana veterinary licensure. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. A background check is required for employment by the University.</p> <p>General Information</p> <p>The Purdue Veterinary Hospital recently completed a major expansion project. The new David and Bonnie Brunner Purdue Veterinary Medical Hospital Complex added 65,000 square feet to the existing small animal hospital facilities. There is a suite of rooms dedicated to the neurology service, and two ORs dedicated to neurosurgery. The new complex provides state of the art teaching facilities dedicated to educating the next generation of veterinary professionals, enabling faculty to provide top quality compassionate animal health care, and serve as a catalyst for interdisciplinary clinical research.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The successful candidate will actively participate in the discovery, learning and engagement missions of the PVM and VCS department. Important activities include: Discovery: All faculty are expected to collaborate on clinical research projects. Tenure-track faculty are expected to develop an independent research program. The PVM is situated on the Purdue campus, allowing for a wide array of research opportunities. Clinical Service: Providing clinical service to patients of the Purdue Veterinary Hospital (typical time commitment: 30-50% Tenure-track and 60-70% Clinical-track); supervising veterinary students, veterinary nursing students, and house officers; and building strong relationships with referring veterinarians. After hours support of residents on-call is shared with other faculty. Learning: Clinical, didactic and laboratory instruction of veterinary students, veterinary nursing students, house officers, and graduate students.
