<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Primary Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Meet with students to discuss academic support, both on a scheduled and drop-in basis. </li><li>Document student contacts and create reports regarding student services provided. </li><li>Provide workshops on various topics regarding academic success. </li><li>Contact students who have been referred by faculty or who are identified by previous term grades indicating low scores. </li><li>Coordinate services with other offices on campus (Student Engagement, Dean of Students Office, Health and Wellness Center, Diversity and Inclusion, Office of Education Abroad, Athletics, Office of Community Living, etc.) to provide academic support to students in areas outside of the Academic Resource Center. </li><li>Participate in Academic Resource Center outreach activities (ex. Tutor Recruiter Event, De-Stress with Dogs, etc.). </li><li>Research current trends/issues in higher education academic support. </li><li>Research new methods/techniques/strategies to support students' academic performance. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Qualifications for the position include:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Educational Leadership, College Student Personnel, Psychology/Counseling, Education, or a related field. Master's preferred. </li><li>One to two years' experience working with college students, preferably in the context of a Learning Support or Advising Center. </li><li>Experience with educational research. </li><li>Sensitivity to working with individuals from underrepresented backgrounds. </li><li>Ability to collaborate with others to achieve goals. </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. </li><li>Possess and demonstrate organizational skills. </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and contact information for three professional references.
