Therefore, we invite and welcome applicants from traditionally underrepresented groups in healthcare - people of color, people with disabilities, LGBTQ community, and/or gender expansive, first and second-generation immigrants, veterans, and people from different socioeconomic backgrounds - to apply.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>This position will require travel to three Neurology practice locations supporting our clinical programs at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Faulkner Hospital and our Neurology practice at South Shore Hospital.</p> <p>The Psychometrist performs a variety of clinical, administrative, and support duties under the direction of licensed Neuropsychologists and the Lead Psychometrist within the Division of Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology. This position entails interaction with patients/families/caregivers and the administration and scoring of neuropsychological tests for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of neurobehavioral disorders. The Psychometrist reports to the Lead Psychometrist.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Under the supervision of licensed staff Neuropsychologists and the Lead Psychometrist, administers and scores standardized tests of cognitive function including measures of attention, memory, language, spatial/constructional ability, executive function, motor function, mood, and personality. Testing occurs as a component of the evaluation of patients with known or suspected neurological/psychiatric illness/disease including but not limited to neurodegenerative conditions, cerebrovascular disease, MS, epilepsy, stroke, brain tumor, learning disability, ADHD, developmental disorders and other syndromes affecting brain and behavior.</p> <p>Administers and scores all tests according to standardized methods and/or methods designed by the staff Neuropsychologists. Produces and submits summary data in an accurate and timely manner. Enters scores and other data in databases as necessary.</p> <p>Establishes rapport with patients and ensures appropriate and comfortable neuropsychological testing conditions to facilitate optimal assessment validity and patient performance.</p> <p>Makes observations of the patient's behavior and affect during the evaluation and records these observations in a concise, systematic manner.</p> <p>Maintains regular communication with supervising neuropsychologist throughout the testing session. Sends relevant test scores, behavioral observations, and alerts to any concerns.</p> <p>Coordinates daily testing schedule for patients and family members/caregivers. Schedules follow-up testing appointments when necessary and takes appropriate steps to ensure maximal patient follow-through. Works closely with the Lead Psychometrist and administrative support staff to avoid scheduling conflicts and ensure optimal communication between all involved parties.</p> <p>Maintains test equipment, testing rooms and record forms in working condition and good supply. Performs inventory and orders new supplies/equipment/forms as necessary. Notifies the Lead Psychometrist when equipment is in need of repair/replacement. Designs, updates, and produces new or replacement test forms per Clinical Director of Neuropsychology and Lead Psychometrist.</p> <p>Performs occasional support tasks such as are necessary in the day-to-day operation of the Neuropsychology service [e.g. scanning files] and other tasks as required per the Clinical Director of Neuropsychology, Staff Neuropsychologists and the Lead Psychometrist.</p> <p>Participates in the teaching/training of new psychometrists, practicum students, and other trainees.
