<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Under limited supervision, provides culturally sensitive screening, triage, and assessment to persons with complex and severe, persistent mental illness. Offers crisis services and referrals to necessary resources as warranted. Employee will be part of the daytime Mobile Crisis Team and provide rapid and mobile crisis intervention services in cooperation with county first responders to individuals who are best reached in their communities in order to efficiently meet needs for immediate safety/de-escalation and referral to appropriate level of follow-up care. Provides services in a culturally sensitive manner.</p> <p>Responsibilities of the Mental Health Professional I include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Provides emergency assessments of clients experiencing crisis. Conduct face to face consultations as needed, with the expectation of arriving no later than 60 minutes after the receipt of a call. </li><li>Complies with all Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance, and Cultural Competency policies, procedures, and regulations along with all Federal and State laws as well as attend trainings classified as mandatory by Federal and State regulations. </li><li>Serves on a crisis stabilization team that evaluates client needs and develops treatment plans that provide appropriate intervention to de-escalate the crisis situation. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.</p> <p>Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>The South Carolina Department of Mental Health is an Equal Employment Opportunity Agency.
