This environment offers endless career opportunities for individuals interested in sharing their ideas, growing with the company and shaping TA's future.</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Diesel Supply & Logistics Advisor manages all elements of TA / Petro regional fuel supply. Strategically, this role collaborates with the bp Supply Trading and Shipping teams while managing fuel supply relationships with outside business partners such as fuel refiners, marketers, traders, pipeline operators, and carriers. The focus is on identifying, developing, and implementing long-term strategies to enhance fuel purchase performance for each TA and Petro location, as well as for bulk fuel wholesale customers. Operationally, the Diesel Supply & Logistics Advisor works with regional Logistics Coordinators to optimize the daily supply of fuel into each location and supports back-office accounting processes to measure performance.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Identify, evaluate and negotiate regional supply contracts with fuel marketers and/or refiners in a manner that provides supply security and optimizes potential purchase performance into each TA and Petro location. </li><li>Periodically evaluate existing long-term supply mechanisms for supply security and the impact on purchase performance. </li><li>Develop alternative long-term supply (spot market purchases, product trading / exchanges, etc.) and logistics options (movements via pipelines, marine, and rail into throughput terminals) to improve supply security or further improve potential purchase performance into each TA and Petro location. </li><li>Minimize price risk potential by utilizing the futures market to hedge against adverse price moves. </li><li>Supervise and support regional Logistics Coordinators in the development of purchase optimization options and strategies, including the daily evaluation and execution of market-driven purchase opportunities. </li><li>Work with marketers and refiners to identify short-term supply options to cover regional supply outages or to take advantage of market opportunities to improve purchase performance. </li><li>Work with the Logistics Coordinators to balance the commitments inherent in our long-term supply contracts and the optimization of our fuel purchase performance. </li><li>Establish and maintain good working relationships with regional fuel marketers, refiners, exchange partners, terminal operators, pipeline companies, and fuel carriers. </li><li>Maintain awareness of fuel regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and to gain cost advantage with new fuel types, including biodiesel and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). </li><li>Continue to develop streamlined back-office processes to quickly and accurately account for fuel purchases. </li><li>Perform all assigned tasks accurately, efficiently and within company and department policies and procedures. </li><li>Train, develop, and coach members of team to achieve optimal performance. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent work experience. MBA preferred. </li><li>5-10 years of experience in fuel supply, including working knowledge of refining, transportation, terminal, pipeline operations, and fuel hauling.
