You will also offer education about their benefits, collect and record payments and ensure seamless access to medical care. This role is essential to the organization and functioning of the department, allowing you to not only make a difference in the lives of patients but also fellow caregivers every day.</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works evenings from 3:30PM - 11:00PM.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li>Perform registrations by completing an accurate face to face interview to obtain demographic, insurance, medical and financial information. </li><li>Perform preregistration for diagnostic testing and surgeries by contacting the patient and completing an accurate interview to obtain demographic, insurance, medical and financial information. </li><li>Schedule services and provide physician office/patient accurate date and time information, realizing room availability, physician availability, typical time needed to completion of procedure and procedures that conflict with each other. </li><li>Complete procedure specific questionnaires as needed to assist clinical departments to prepare for patients. </li><li>Review eligibility response to assess patient's benefit level, prepare estimates, advise patients of out-of-pocket expenses and collect payment. </li><li>Utilize screening tool for self-pay patients to determine any possible payer source. </li><li>Refer patients to Financial Counselors in accordance with established policies and procedures. </li><li>Advise patients of and generate Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) and/or Assumption of Financial Responsibility (AFR) form as appropriate. </li><li>Obtain, scan and index physician orders </li><li>Crosstrain to staff all areas of Patient Access </li><li>Act as a resource for training of new team members and during implementation of new processes. </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma/GED and one year of customer service experience OR higher education and training </li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology </li><li>Competency with computer software including practice management systems and windows applications </li><li>Data entry proficiency </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>One year of hospital clerical or billing </li></ul> <p>Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
