IF YOU APPLIED IN THE PAST, YOU MUSTS RE-APPLY IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead team of incarcerated individuals (i.e., provides work direction and training) in receiving, inspecting, storing, and distributing stock, supplies and/or equipment in assigned work areas (e.g., warehouse, quartermaster, laundry, commissary)</p> </li><li> <p>Enforces storeroom or warehouse procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Inventories and orders supplies</p> </li><li> <p>Completes and maintains shipping, receiving and inventory records</p> </li><li> <p>Receives clothing and shoes for incarcerated individuals</p> </li><li> <p>Receives clothing and equipment for staff</p> </li><li> <p>Issues and/or exchanges clothing items and shoes for incarcerated individuals</p> </li><li> <p>Issues and/or exchanges clothing items and equipment for staff</p> </li><li> <p>Stores and rotates stock</p> </li><li> <p>Updates and maintains logs and records, maintains perpetual inventory</p> </li><li> <p>Labels and/or prices stock items</p> </li><li> <p>Follows all applicable safety rules, policies, and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Operates all related equipment assigned to area</p> </li><li> <p>Opens incoming mail and physically inspects contents</p> </li><li> <p>Operates x-ray equipment to scan incoming parcels and packages for detection of potentially threatening and/or suspicious materials (contraband)</p> </li><li> <p>Follows security procedures for confiscation of contraband and notification of appropriate institutional staff for investigation</p> </li><li> <p>Operates postage machines (e.g. postage scale, meter machine) to process incoming/outgoing mail (e.g. sorts mail for most efficient handling</p> </li><li> <p>Determines class of mail</p> </li><li> <p>Sets postage meters: date and time stamps, opens, bundles, addresses</p> </li><li> <p>Completes documentation associated with special mail handling such as certified return receipts or receipts for insurance</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures prompt handling of time sensitive documents that could have impact on legal notifications) and delivers to appropriate office and/or picks up mail, parcels and/or messages</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares and submits all applicable reports when required and/or requested and ensures audit control of records</p> </li><li> <p>Distributes cleaning supplies, paper products, dry goods and other food items</p> </li><li> <p>Receives clothing and shoes from incarcerated individuals being released</p> </li><li> <p>Receives clothing and equipment from staff separating from the institution</p> </li><li> <p>Loads and unloads trucks and/or distributes contents to various offices</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains daily record in assigned area.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains clean and orderly work area</p> </li><li> <p>Serves on institution committees</p> </li></ul> <p>Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions & percentages; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in inventory control; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in OSHA &/or other safety standards & practices applicable to storeroom or warehouse operations.
