If you're ready to embrace challenges, strive for excellence, and make a meaningful impact, IPS is the place for you.</p> <p>SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY:</p> <p>We are looking for an Intensive Supports Lead Therapeutic Specialist who will positively impact student success by providing immediate and long term therapeutic support to students served in intensive programs (Therapeutic Day Program, ED, alternative options, etc.). The Specialist addresses barriers to student learning, including social, emotional and mental health challenges and provides recommendations for supports and services for families.</p> <p>WHAT YOU'LL DO:</p> <p>The following outlines what your core duties and responsibilities will be for this position and provides a sample overview of what your day-to-day may look like.</p> <p>Core Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Identify students requiring access to therapeutic and/or counseling supports who may not otherwise be served by mental health community partners</p> <p>Work with building leaders, USS leadership, students, and families to ensure clear communication streams exist</p> <p>Provide therapeutic and counseling related services to individual students, as well as groups of students</p> <p>Lead prevention groups in SPED and general alternative options (grief, incarcerated parents, violence, conflict mediation, etc.)</p> <p>Work with the Social Services Coordinator to provide short-term support to schools with interrupted access to a school social worker or therapeutic services from a community partner</p> <p>Maintain data for the purpose of demonstrating the impact of therapeutic interventions and support</p> <p>Support each assigned school with intervention and supportive problem-solving for students in the MTSS process who demonstrate potential mental health needs</p> <p>Confer with school counselors, school psychologists, and teaching staff, to obtain additional testing information, and to gain insight on student behavioral disorders affecting the learning process</p> <p>Assist in developing positive behavioral intervention strategies.</p> <p>Access and link community resources to students, families and the school in response to identified needs. To accomplish this responsibility, home and agency visits are required.</p> <p>Serves as the Case Manager for Section 504/Disability which maintains case conference and monitor compliance.</p> <p>Serves as a member of the IPS /Crisis Team and respond when called.</p> <p>WHAT YOU'll BRING: SKILLS AND MINDSETS:</p> <p>As an ideal candidate for this role, you will be able to achieve the following:</p> <ul> <li>Highly-developed communications skills (written/verbal) and interpersonal savvy </li><li>Results/action-orientation; project management skills </li><li>Racial equity mindset and other critical indicators related to DEI </li><li>Organizational agility; developed negotiation skills </li><li>Unquestionable personal code of ethics, integrity, diversity and trust </li><li>Able to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Strong strategic analysis skills </li><li>Ability to be creative in developing alternatives to meet IPS Instructional needs </li><li>A track record of developing and maintaining strong working relationships with and among a diverse group of actors </li><li>Excellent communication skills and strong analytical and writing capabilities </li><li>Close attention to detail coupled with the ability to exercise good judgment </li><li>Strong organizational, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Proactive nature; able to anticipate conflicts before they arise </li><li>Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively </li><li>Ability to execute meetings, calls and emails with professionalism, courtesy and accuracy </li><li>Personal qualities of maturity, humility, strong work ethic, sense of humor, and diligence </li><li>Ability to effectively allocate and prioritize time to several tasks to ensure completion of all </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Social Work, School Social Work, School Counseling, or similar from a qualifying university or college preferred (will consider an equivalent combination of relevant undergraduate education and experience for highly qualified candidates) </li><li>Working knowledge of federal and state special education and 504 laws, rules, and practices </li></ul> <p>FLSA CLASSIFICATION:</p> <p>Exempt</p> <p>ELIGIBILITY FOR REMOTE WORK:</p> <p>Not eligible</p> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
