The Board is comprised of 17 members, who have been appointed by the governor. The board sets the requirements and criteria for the basic training of law enforcement officers throughout the State of Indiana, which became mandatory in 1972.</p> <p>Role Overview:</p> <p>Serve as a Building Custodian within the Housekeeping Department of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA). Responsible for performing cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to ensure that the academy buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. Will report to the Building Custodian Supervisor.</p> <p>Salary Statement:</p> <p>The salary for this position traditionally starts at $34,216.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.</p> <p>A Day in the Life:</p> <p>The essential functions of this role are as follows:</p> <ul> <li>Clean by dusting, mopping, washing, vacuuming, polishing, disinfecting or scrubbing all surfaces of furniture, furnishings, floors, walls and any other surfaces; </li><li>Restock supplies where necessary; </li><li>Clean and maintain, wax and polish finishes on floors; </li><li>Strip and wax floors, as required; </li><li>Clean carpets, as required; </li><li>Request and store cleaning supplies and materials and provide routine maintenance on cleaning tools and equipment; </li><li>Store cleaning equipment and supplies in a safe and orderly manner; </li><li>Clear and clean waste containers and dispose of refuse and recyclables; </li><li>Move furniture and equipment as requested by the housekeeping supervisor; </li><li>Report any repairs needed to facilities maintenance; </li><li>Provide support to and work with other team members; </li></ul> <p>The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
