You'll get to:</p> <ul> <li>Create and modify 3D CAD models and drawings for plastic and steel components, sub-assemblies, and complex design layouts. </li><li>Design, develop, and test cutting system components across various product platforms, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards. </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Marketing, Testing, Production, Supply Chain, Service, and Accounting. </li><li>Innovate and test design concepts within manufacturing constraints, using a hands-on approach to prototyping and assembly. </li><li>Plan and conduct outdoor testing of power equipment to ensure performance and reliability. Communicate the results to the project teams. </li><li>Utilize and develop data driven analysis tools to make informed design and business decisions. </li><li>Maintain and review documentation within CAD and PLM software throughout the design cycle. </li><li>Contribute to and document best practices to improve the team's speed to market maintaining a continuous improvement approach in all aspects of the job. </li><li>Travel approximately 3-4 weeks per year, primarily between February and April. </li></ul> <p>The Person:</p> <p>You love to learn and grow and be acknowledged for your valuable contributions. You have knowledge of Outdoor Power Equipment subsystems, including frames, suspension, drivetrain, cutting systems, engines, and electrical. Additionally, familiarity with high-volume manufacturing processes and rapid prototyping as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements for Outdoor Power Equipment (e.g., EPA/CARB, ANSI). You'll also have:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering </li><li>A minimum of 2 years of experience in new product development with a background in outdoor power equipment and/or power tool use, design or manufacturing (preferred/not required). </li><li>Experience in mechanical system design and analysis, with familiarity in fluid dynamics.
