Commensurate with Qualifications Position Location (City) Greenville Position Type Faculty (Teaching) Job Category Faculty (Teaching) Organizational Unit Overview</p> <p>The Department of Occupational Therapy has a well-established entry-level Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program and an entry-level Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program. The MSOT and OTD programs run concurrently and jointly admit a total of 26 students annually. All 26 students are admitted at the master's level. At the end of the second semester, approximately 1/3 of the MSOT cohort are admitted into the entry-level OTD program after mentorship and advising.</p> <p>Within the Department are 5 dedicated teaching and research labs, totaling 4,600 sq. ft. stocked with supplies and state-of-the-art equipment. Advanced technology (i.e., 3D printing, classroom video capture, virtual reality lab, fully integrated video management system) is available to support innovative instruction. The Department also has the pro-bono Student Run Clinic where MSOT and OTD students evaluate and treat clients as a part of their coursework.</p> <p>The Department is part of the largest College of Allied Health Sciences in North Carolina which includes communication sciences and disorders, physical therapy, and physician assistant programs, among others, supporting a variety of interprofessional education opportunities. In addition, a health science library is located within the same building and includes a librarian dedicated to supporting our program in scholarly work. Adjacent to the health sciences campus is East Carolina University (ECU) Health Medical Center, a 974-bed, level-1 trauma center which offers multiple opportunities to partner with clinicians.</p> <p>East Carolina University is one of the largest of the 17 universities of the University of North Carolina system. East Carolina University has approximately 27,000 students and is a major employer in Greenville, North Carolina (population of 90,000). Greenville is 90 miles east of the Research Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, & Chapel Hill) and 90 miles west of the beautiful Crystal Coast.</p> <p>Job Duties</p> <p>East Carolina University invites applications for a 12-month, tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor position. Primary duties will include: (1) teaching graduate courses, (2) engaging in research and funding opportunities, (3) advising graduate students in research, and (4) serving the university and profession.</p> <p>Contingent upon available funding</p> <p>Minimum Education/Experience</p> <p>Occupational therapist with an earned post-professional doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a related field (PhD, ScD, EdD, DHSc, DSc, OTD, DrOT). All but dissertation (ABD) candidates will be considered.
