<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Lead Software Engineer, Tax Product Development plays a critical role in designing and implementing complex features and solutions that support the tax practice and delivery of services to clients. The Lead Software Engineer owns end-to-end delivery of large features or systems, defining technical requirements and architecture for tax products and solutions. This role requires collaboration across global teams and cross-functional groups in a hybrid (in-person and virtual) work environment.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Leads design and implementation of major systems and features within an Agile team focused on tax solutions </li><li>Designs, develops, and tests software solutions using web and cloud technologies for innovative tax products </li><li>Applies modern software engineering principles throughout the software lifecycle for tax-related applications </li><li>Reviews business requirements for technical feasibility and collaborate with various teams to deliver quality tax software products </li><li>Mentors junior engineers to enhance code quality and performance, and ensure compliance with standards in tax product development </li><li>Maintains Tax products and platforms based on product roadmaps, production support process and complies with IT, security, and business compliance mandates </li><li>Effectively communicates with stakeholders and cross functional teams such as technical architects and security teams and others </li><li>Champions secure coding and technical debt reduction, while staying up to date with technology trends and evangelizes modern methods of software engineering and innovation </li><li>Other duties as required </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Acts as a direct supervisor to team members, as assigned </li><li>Acts as a career advisor, as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required, with a focus in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), Finance, or Accounting, preferred </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Six (6) or more years of hands-on experience with building web-based apps using the full Microsoft stack, including C#, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, Typescript), React, or similar, required </li><li>Six (6) or more years of experience in developing stored procedures and database schemas utilizing SQL Server, Azure SQL, or NOSQL databases, required </li><li>Six (6) or more years of experience in designing and automating CI/CD/DevOps Pipelines, preferred </li><li>Six (6) or more years of experience working with Microsoft Azure and Azure Portal, preferred </li><li>Six (6) or more years of experience with Monitoring Tools such as App Monitoring, App Insights, and Power BI, preferred </li><li>Proficient in applying software engineering and object-oriented programming principles, preferred </li><li>Strong experience in software design, algorithms, data structures, data modeling, and design patterns, preferred </li><li>Expertise in writing clean code, leading code reviews, minimizing technical debt, and establishing coding standards and best practices within a team, preferred </li><li>Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of software engineers, preferred </li><li>Experience in project management and delivering complex software projects on time, preferred </li><li>Proven ability to align software development with business goals and strategic vision, while encouraging innovation and continuous improvement within a team, preferred </li></ul> <p>License/Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Microsoft MTA / MCSD, Azure Fundamentals (Az-900), Microsoft Azure Developer Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect, preferred </li><li>Other Certifications in Microsoft, Azure MTA / MCSD, preferred </li></ul> <p>Software:</p> <ul> <li>Proficient with scripting tools such as PowerShell, Graph API, and Azure CLI, preferred </li><li>Experience with the following products, preferred: </li><li>Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Microsoft Visual Studio </li><li>Microsoft Azure Dev Ops or GitHub </li><li>Microsoft SQL Server and/or Azure SQL DB </li><li>Microsoft Power BI and PowerApps </li><li>Azure functions </li><li>HTTP Debug Tools </li></ul> <p>Other Knowledge, Skills, interact with all levels of employees and management </li></ul> <p>Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.</p> <p>National Range: $150,000 - $190,000</p> <p>Maryland Range: $150,000 - $190,000</p> <p>NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $150,000 - $190,000</p>
