The selected candidate reviews, prepares and schedules financial transactions to ensure accurate and prompt payments; assists with processing of 1099s, W-9s, ACH/SUA payments, uncashed checks; and provides customer service support and training to campus partners.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills; attention to detail; the ability to manage multiple priorities and the ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse campus community including faculty, staff, students and other campus partners.</p> <p>Responsibilities include: </p> <ul> <li>Provide first class customer service by handling phone/email/in person inquiries in a prompt and professional manner </li><li>Review and audit purchase order information/invoices/payment reimbursement requests, travel related requests for proper coding, approval, clarity of intention, dates and conformity system & University and requests for proper coding, approval, clarity of intention, dates and conformity system & University and PASSHE guidelines prior to processing </li><li>Schedule payments to ensure payment within payment terms and avoid premature or delinquent payments to vendors </li><li>Enter all documents requiring payment into the account payables system daily </li><li>Process special reimbursement requests assigned </li><li>Run pay cycle proposals. Follow process and procedure to seek proper approval and release of payments </li><li>Maintain consistent follow-up for pending disbursements, receivers, open purchase orders, and problems with purchase orders, vendors, or department requests </li><li>Notify the Accounts Payable Manager of all unresolved problems </li><li>Contact the Purchasing Office, Contract Services, or other departments in order to resolve problems or gather information as needed. Continue follow-up until resolution is obtained </li><li>Void and reissue checks as needed </li><li>Back up other team members as needed </li><li>Stay up to date on changes to department/university/accounting system policy and procedures </li><li>Report any suspect or actual violations of system or University guidelines immediately </li><li>Perform other job-related duties as assigned </li><li>One year as a Fiscal Assistant </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an Associate degree in accounting or business administration </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Any equivalent combination of experience and training </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Thorough knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices </li><li>Knowledge of modern office practices and equipment </li><li>Some knowledge of accounting principles and methods </li><li>Ability to perform detailed work involving written or numerical data and to make arithmetical calculations rapidly and accurately </li><li>Ability to prepare financial reports and statements </li><li>Ability to apply and adapt established methods to financial transactions </li><li>Experience with SAP and OnBase systems </li><li>Experience with high volume data entry with attention to detail </li><li>Customer service experience </li><li>Ability to research and solve problems </li></ul> <p>Ask about opportunities for partial work from home and WCU alternate work schedules.</p> <p>Candidates should apply online at https://www.schooljobs.com/careers/wcupa.
