<p>Job Description</p> <p>The HR Business Partner will work closely with the Director of Human Resources providing ongoing support to the Divisions in the areas of employee relations, supervisory and management training, and transactions. This individual will supervise the Talent Acquisition Specialist, and support HR department projects, tasks and objectives.</p> <ul> <li>All newly hired CTtransit employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 </li></ul> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <ul> <li>Reviews processes and policies related to recruiting, screening and onboarding, working with the Talent Acquisition Specialist, and Division and Department management to recommend changes as needed to improve quality of hires and efficiency. </li><li>Assesses training needs for the organization and makes recommendations. </li><li>Develops online and in-person training programs for supervisors, managers, and other employees, including training required by law, and delivers training as appropriate. </li><li>Assists Director of Human Resources in handling and resolving employee relations concerns and complaints. </li><li>Leads or assists with internal investigations of employee complaints. </li><li>Assists in carrying out Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity policies and reporting. </li><li>Manages unemployment compensation matters. </li><li>Processes employee life cycle changes (e.g. hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, title/schedule changes), including drafting appropriate communications and updating files in HRIS. </li><li>Responds to department requests and communications in a timely manner. </li><li>Assists with collecting, creating, updating and maintaining spreadsheets, databases and monthly reports. </li><li>Assist in departmental programs/projects as necessary. </li><li>Backup to the Director of Human Resources. </li><li>Attends in-service training, seminars or other opportunities for professional development as made available by the Agency. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Four-year degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience in an HR Department. </li><li>Minimum five years of HR generalist experience with specific experience in training and employee relations. Experience in recruiting and/or Affirmative Action reporting is desirable. </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency with HRIS applications, applicant tracking systems and MS Office required. </li><li>High level of integrity and strong work ethic to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. </li><li>Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment across multiple departments with tact and professionalism. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, and effective problem solving and critical thinking abilities. </li><li>Customer-focused and capable of relating well within all levels of the organization. </li><li>Dependable, motivated and proactive, and able to produce results while managing multiple priorities. </li><li>Valid drivers' license and the ability to be insured by our insurance company throughout employment.
