<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Provide exceptional health care delivery to athletic programs by promoting holistic student-athlete success and experiences through prevention evaluation, programming for rehabilitation, self-care and wellness. Set athletic training clinic times and home event coverage allows for work/life balance of the staff.</p> <p>Essential Functions of the Position:</p> <ul> <li>Work in cooperation with the Head Athletic Trainer in all aspects of the health care of the student-athletes, such as evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries incurred by the intercollegiate student-athletes. </li><li>Provide onsite care and management of injuries and illnesses including prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation. </li><li>Assess risk of injury, self-care implementation and overall wellness promotion. </li><li>Complete electronic documentation of patient encounters into PyraMed (EMR). </li><li>Execute medical care for student-athletes per sports medicine standard operating procedures. </li><li>Coordinate and implement injury prevention programs and customized preventative strategies and programs to each patient. </li><li>Collaborate with campus partners and athletic department staff regarding the safety and well-being of student athletes. </li><li>Communicate with physicians and coaching staff regarding the injury status of athletes. </li><li>Provide medical care during open clinic times and home athletic events. </li><li>Travel to away contests as determined by Head Athletic Trainer. </li></ul> <p>Professional Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Understand and fulfill job duties within the scope of the mission statement. </li><li>Adhere to the policies and procedures of the College. </li><li>Maintain professionalism in actions, communication, and behavior in every aspect of the position. </li><li>Maintain Ohio licensure and certification for athletic training. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Required Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication. </li><li>Proficient use of athletic training supplies and equipment, therapeutic modalities, computer, and software. </li><li>Ability to manage several injuries at one time during an athletic event while maintaining a calm demeanor and providing professional care. </li><li>Demonstrated teamwork mindset prioritizing the student athlete at all times. </li></ul> <p>Required Experience & Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in athletic training or in a related field </li><li>Certified athletic trainer </li><li>Ohio OTPTAT Board Licensure (current or able to obtain prior to August 2025) </li><li>Current CPR for Professional Rescuer/BLS </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work in a variety of indoor/outdoor settings dependent on the sporting event assigned. This could include cold/hot temperatures and rain or snow. </li><li>Ability to lift a patient with assistance from coaches or other support staff. Occasional stretching, twisting, grasping, pulling, and other semi-strenuous activities while treating a student athlete. </li><li>Ability to respond quickly to student's injuries during athletic events with the proper medical supplies and safety protection readily available. </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and contact information for three professional references.
