<p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>Food Service Worker Substitute</p> <p>Position Code:</p> <p>Department: All Schools</p> <p>FLSA: Non-Exempt</p> <p>Reports to: Principal</p> <p>Supervises: N/A</p> <p>Job Summary: To prepare and serve nutritious meals for students and staff in an efficient, safe, and inviting cafeteria environment.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ol> <li>Prepare and serve meals. </li></ol> <ul> <li>Assist the manager and other food service workers with food preparation tasks as assigned by the cafeteria manager. </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li> <p>Handle food service records as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with kitchen operation.</p> </li></ol> <ul> <li>Clean. </li><li>Maintain equipment. </li><li>Maintain milk cooler. </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li> <p>Follow the work schedule provided by the cafeteria manager.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate appropriately within the school environment.</p> </li></ol> <ul> <li>Help maintain an inviting cafeteria atmosphere. </li><li>Maintain appropriate confidentiality. </li></ul> <p>Other Functions:</p> <ol> <li>Other duties as assigned by the principal. </li></ol> <p>Education, Experience, and Skills Required:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma preferred </li><li>Previous experience in food service preferred </li></ul> <p>Polk County Schools</p> <p>Evaluation:</p> <p>Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of Board of Education policy, North Carolina statutes, and goals established by the Principal and the cafeteria manager.</p> <p>Environmental Factors:</p> <p>This position requires lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods of time, having hands in water for dishwashing and cleaning, handling cleaning agents.</p>
